Three stars of the worldwide popular Game of Thrones series visited the migrant camp at Kara Tepe, on the Aegean island of Lesvos on Wednesday, at the invitation of the International Rescue Committee (IRC).
Characters Sir Davos (Liam Cunningham), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) visited the site for two-hours and had a chance to chat with members of migrant families and played with children staying at the camp.
The IRC is a global humanitarian aid, relief and development NGO based in New York. Game of Thrones and IRC recently teamed up to launch the ‘Rescue Has No Boundaries’ campaign to raise awareness and bring aid to the millions of refugees and displaced people around the world.
A total 3,331 migrants and refugees are currently on Lesvos, according to government figures published on Wednesday.
