Following the recent letter-bomb attack on former Greek PM Lucas Papademos, on Tuesday the militant group of Popular Fighters claimed responsibility for the bomb attacks last year at the Labor Ministry and a Eurobank branch.
The group also claimed responsibility for the Kalashnikov assault rifle attack on the old headquarters of New Democracy on Syngrou Street and a similar attack on the German ambassador’s residence in Halandri in December of that year.
Whilst police investigations continue into last weeks attack on Papademos, the anti-establishment group known as Rouvikonas threw fliers containing derogatory language and threats against the former Greek prime minister outside the capital’s Evangelismos Hospital, where he is being treated for injuries sustained after opening the letter bomb.
