New Celtic song pays tribute to Ange Postecoglou and new signings

The 60,411 seater Celtic Park (also known as Parkhead and Paradise) is one of the meccas of international football, and it appears that Ange Postecoglou’s name will be ringing around the iconic Glasgow stadium throughout the season.

The Greek-Australian manager took over the reigns of Celtic after a catastrophic season that saw the Scottish club not only capitulate in their endeavour for 10 league titles in a row, but also allow arch-rivals Rangers to win the title with a massive 25 point cushion.

Postecoglou, despite being in the job for less than two months, has already received the backing and love from Celtic’s famous supporters for his straight talking and high-intensity attacking football philosophy.

The backing from fans, including from the Green Brigade ultras, is so-much-so that a new song paying tribute to Postecoglou and the club’s new signings has been made.

After defeating Czech outfit FK Jablonec in the Europa Qualifier during the week, extending Celtic’s run to three wins in a row and 13 goals scored in as many games, Postecoglou said “the supporters have been unbelievable since I got here.”

“They’ve been so supportive since I got here, but inside I feel I don’t deserve it yet.

“There’s still a long way to go and I need to achieve things at this football club, and make the supporters proud of this team.

“Hopefully when I’m done I’ll eventually walk away knowing I’ve been part of something special.”

However, for Postecoglou’s appreciation but acknowledgement he has yet to win trophies to earn the supporters respect, it appears that some Celtic fans are not waiting at all, and paid homage in a new song to not only Ange Postecoglou, but also two new signings.

“We got Abada, he’s on the wing,

We got Kyogo, he’s doing his thing,

Ange is our leader,

We follow the Celtic all over the world.”

19-year-old Israeli international Liel Abada has hit the ground running since arriving in Glasgow.

On 20 July, he scored on his debut in the first leg of Celtic’s Champions League second round qualifying match against Danish club FC Midtjylland.

He followed this up with another goal on August 5 in the Czech Republic in the first leg of the Europa League qualifier match against FK Jablonec.

Fellow new signing Kyogo Furuhashi has equally impressed.

The Japanese international scored a hat-trick that swept aside Dundee to help give Celtic a 6-0 victory in front of 24,500 fans last weekend in the second round of the Scottish Premiership.

As 67HailHail highlighted, the song dedicated to Abada, Kyogo and Postecoglou is set to “Jumping All Over The World” by Scooter, which in turn samples 1970s anthem “Glass Of Champagne” by Sailor.

Celtic play Hearts tomorrow in the Premier Sports (League) Cup, where they hope to exact revenge on the Edinburgh club that defeated the Hoops in the first round of the Scottish Premiership.
