Casapulla is a town of 8,522 inhabitants in the province of Caserta in Campania, Southern Italy.
The area is believed to have been inhabited since 59 BC. However, historians trace the modern town’s origins to the Middle Ages.
Its name derives from Casapulus, which comes from Casa Apollonis, which references the Greek god Apollo, to whom a temple was dedicated in the area.
It is believed that the temple to Apollo was located on the site of today’s main church of Sant’Elpidio.
