
Greece’s annual Pride parade kicked off on the weekend with the main activities hosted in Syntagma square in Athens.
The event which has taken place since 2005 aims to elevate the visibility of LGBTQI persons in Greek society with the objective of advancing their demands and rights.
The parade kicked off at 19:00 in the city’s main square and was followed later at night with an open-air concert.
This year, the main slogan is “A matter of education”, which is aimed at main problems facing LGBTQI people, such as the long-awaited legislation on gender identity.
