Tourists all across Greece today, July 20, may face disruptions in hospitality services, as the Panhellenic Federation of Catering and Tourist Industry Employees will be on a 24-hour strike, with waiters, hotel staff and chefs nationwide taking part.

In an announcement, the Federation stated that Greece’s constant record of tourist arrivals and revenue in the country has had no positive impact on industrial relations in the sector.

The Federation is demanding better working terms and conditions, claiming that relations between employers and employees have been disrupted as a new labor model keeps salaries low and limits social security rights.

The Federation is holding a gathering at Klathmonos Square in central Athens at 10 am.
