Congratulations to Greece’s Stefania Liberakakis, who at just 18 years of age, brought Greece back into the top ten Eurovision finalists after an eight year hiatus. Of the 26 finalists, Stefania was the only contestant to showcase her country’s flag, the Greek flag, on stage.

GCT speaks to George about his amazing life’s journey from humble childhood, to becoming a member of famed band ‘Moda Blue’, his Opening Ceremony performance at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, the song ‘Australia’ he composed at the request of late Archbishop Stylianos and, more recently, his historical rendition of the Greek Anthem as part of 200th Greek Independence Day celebrations.

The much anticipated season return of ‘Travel Guides’ produced by Nine airs at 7.30pm tonight with Episode 1 set in Greece! Our favourite travellers take off on a Greek island-hopping holiday that starts in the ancient capital, Athens, before boarding the ferry to the party island of Mykonos and then to the traditional island of Milos. GCT speaks to Greek Australian star of the show, Dorian, about the highlights of his time in Greece and how his Yiaiyia “cried a little” when she learned he was travelling back to her homeland for the show.

Prince Philip: Ceremony in his honour in Corfu at the same time as the funeral in England

Corfu, the birthplace of Prince Philip, honoured and participated in the mourning on the day of Prince Philip’s funeral, with a memorial prayer in the sanctuary of Agios Spyridon. When Prince Philip was laid to rest, his unique personal royal flag, representing the national flag of Greece, was draped over his casket.
